This may sound silly, but I also use mice and rat traps to catch game such as snakes, squirrels, birds, etc. I drill a hole about 1" from the end of the trap and attach 3 feet of strong wire, then attach the other end of the wire to a small tree so the animal won't carry off my trap. Bait the trap, set it, and before long, it's dinner time. Saves bullets, etc.
Deadfalls work well, also, as well as snares for me. Cool

Many squirrels have felt the wrath of a rat trap at my house. The buggers are a nusance and get into your barn and make a mess, so I baited a rat trap with peanut butter and fix'd the problem.

A buddy of mine along time ago got one with a 22. skined it cooked it over the fire, tasted good. With a beer of course.

right about now (3am on a friday night) beer makes everything good. Very Happy I have not yet eat'n squirrel.
