~Let's see those scatter guns!~ |
|
Viewed as the most versatile gun ever made the shotgun is really the only true "respectable" firearm out there. It can play many roles, from shooting flares, to bird shot, to slugs to numerous "novelty rounds" that no other gun can match. It can transform from a devistating close range weapon, to a medium range rifle in one motion, and back again.
These have to be my favorite type of gun ever. So let's see them!
*edit*
I'll have to get some of my pics up later, as I can't find any.

Then I'll re-post a photo of my Browning that I love so much!
I've had it for years, never a problem with it. But I wish I had your Mossberg 590 also!
They are the multi-tools of the firearms world, that's for sure.

Alright I just took a new photo.
On the top is the Rem 870 Express, next the Rem 870 "Tactical Magnum" The little gun in the middle is a single shot New England Firearm 12ga that is chambered in 3.5" shells. That little thing kicks harder than any other gun I have ever shot in my life, and that was with 2 3/4" shells. So here soon I'm going to man up and put some 3.5" #4 buch through her. Of course once my insurance starts back up again, and on the police range. Next is my home defense gun, the Mossberg M590. I'll tell the truth about this one, I bought it for the stand alone fact that it has a bayonet lug that will accept any bayonet made for the M16. I don't know why but I had to have it after that little fact. But now I absolutly love it! It shoulders so nice, the action is really smooth, and the ghost ring sights rule! It also has the speed feed stock so in the stock there are two mini magazines. Each side holds two rounds at the ready, in there I use some Remington Duplex rounds that were designed to have number 4 buck and all the dead space filled in with #2 shot, very good stuff IMO. I also added a four round saddle on the side to hold more rounds so all together I have an 8+1 magazine, four in the stock, and four more on the side. I love this gun. And on the bottom is the Mossberg 500. That is the only 20 ga I own, and to tell you the truth about that one I will never get another 20 ga. My great grandfather owned it and when he died I snagged it. I had to weld two of the slide rails back together so it would become funtional again. But I just don't like it. It fun and all, but just isn't a 12ga if you know what I mean.

About $400. Then you can send it off to AIMPRO Tactical or Vang Comp and spend another $400 getting it all done up right. Although the normal 590 IS the ONLY gun that has ever passed all of the U.S. Military MilSpec 3443 tests all the way through. And because of that, they are being reissued in Iraq today.

Yep, its pretty old. Way before my time. Used to be my Grandfathers dads.
Have you seen T2? I love the lever action shotgun, the Winchester 1887. I would love to find one of those. Ive heard that they are pretty rare.

Does that bolt gun have the adjustable choke on the end of it?
As for the 870 it all depends. I have the express that can only hold a max of four plus one, but my friend has a limited run of the 870 wingmaster that can hold five plus one. Most of those are plugged to only hold two plus one for hunting though.

*drool* I want a lever action 12ga. I don't care if it only shoots three times before a reload I want one bad! I had the chance to shoot a real WWI trench gun last year. Those are some fun guns! They are classified as a class III gun because they slam fire, infact they were designed to slam fire. So you just hold the trigger down, and keep pumping.

Oh, I saw my first bolt shotgun at a pawn shop a number of years ago. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen! The end had some kind of adjustable choke system. It was only $50, and I passed on it. I should have bought it.

I don't remember what cal it was. Now that I think of it, I don't think it was a 12ga because I have literally NO control when it's a 12ga. Most of those bolt guns were made just to be a bolt gun, and man a 16ga slug would be a pretty cool gun. But yeah if it would have been a 12 I know I would have bought it right away.
That Rem 870 Tactical shotty was a straight up impulse buy. I walked into my favorite gun shop and the guy behind the counter says "Geez! Where the heck have you been!?! I've got a gun for you!" (how bad is that when the gun shop guys miss you? ) Anyways some guy had come in and put that gun on layaway. He paid all but $150, and came in and tried to pay the last bit on a credit card, but that shop requires cash, check or debit for the final purchase. The guy left, and never came back! So the gun sat in the back for about six months and finnally the owner of the shop said to sell it for what was left on the tab. So I paid $50 to put it back on layaway (litterally all the money I had on me at the time) and came back the next day to take it home.
