thats really neat! my sister crochets. she can make some cool stuff. hats, huge blankets,skarfs.... all that good stuff. its great to know how to do all of that. good skill to have. 
I tried to crochet once and didnt have the pacints for it.

I doubled the thickness by stitching a second layer over the first one. It should be really warm and wind proof too, plus it's %100 wool

Heres how to knit and heres how the crochet
All I did to make it, was to crochet in a spiral, if I wanted it to be flat then I would add a stitch now and then and if I wanted it to start to go rounder I would stop adding stitches or even skip a stitch. After I made most of it I started to double it up by stitching over it, starting in the center and working my way outward
If I decide to make another I'll put up a tutorial

wool is no good anyway they basically torture the sheep/lambs in order to get it. look into the wool industry you will see what i mean.

Are you sure about that Jax? Not to be confrontational... but where are your resources coming from. When I was deciding to make the switch from synthetics to wool I did alot of research and found only good things about the wool growers. Among the best treated livestock in the farm industry, wool producing sheep and milking cows were getting the "royal" treatment. Well kept healthy sheep give heathly wool... these animals are groomed and fed the best in diets. Australia has led the way in high quality wool. Cotton and especialy synthetics take a lot of energy to process while wool seems to be quite easily manipulated after harvesting. The main focus is breading good wool growers and not letting the gene pool get too "shallow". Much like the racehorse industry. There are a few isolated cases of mistreatment but this is reflected in the wool's quality and soon weeded out by routine testing. If you have any articles on the mistreatment of animals, I'd like to be pointed toward them... I'm very much into getting all the info on important subjects to me.
