"Pickle Flowers"??? |
|
Sarah's son returned from camp yesterday, and told us that they had been eating something the other campers call a "pickle flower". I've never heard of it, and he really coudn't describe it to me, other than saying that the shoot and flower tastes like pickles??!!
I have no clue what he might be referring to. Any ideas?

After googling "pickle flower" I came across this in somebody's blog:
and “pickle” flowers. I don’t actually know what the pickle flowers are actually called… They’re very tiny, like a groundcover flower would be, but it’s not groundcover. It has about 5 shiny buttery-colored yellow petals, and tastes like a dill pickle.

Thanks Flashlight. That's more info than I could find when I googled. He did say the flowers were like a ground cover. Hmm. I wonder if they have any nutritional value, for foraging.

Call me Flash.

And they probably have some nutritional value.
