10/.22LR Ruger |
|
Well guys I finally own a gun! I had a 10/.22LR Ruger Rifle given to me by a family member and I have went out and purchases some magazines (the family member didn't have any for the gun) and yesterday I picked up a 3-9 X 40 scope and mounted it up.
Now I am looking to pick up a 12 GA shotgun, then either a pistol or deer rifle next. I am currently leaving towards a S&W .45acp for the pistol as I have held one more than once and love the feel of the gun. For the shotgun I am leaving towards a Moss 930 but I also like the what I hear about the 590 (I think it's a 590). But I think I would prefer a pump over a auto.
BTW a 10/.22 is a great gun, and I reccomend it for anyone as it's the most upgradable .22LR in the world!

I love my 10-22 and it is literally taking ALL of my self control to keep from modding it out to a real target gun.

I hear you on that, I want to mod mine out more but I would rather mod out a nice 30-06 instead because this one's range isn't enough for me. I know it can fire pretty accurately up to 100 yard if modded nicely but I want something that will have enough power at that range to take down a deer which is impossible with this rifle even modded.
BTW the best site I found for a 10/.22 rifle (anything in that range in fact) is this site:
http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/
They have a section with over 20K of threads just about the Ruger 10/.22!

yeah rfc is an awsome site to browse around in, and I think the main reason I want to buy a stripped lower to build a 10-22 up from. But like you said CS, for what it costs to build a tack driver at 100 yards, I can build my 270wsm that will be a tack driver at 700 yards.

I love my 10/22. I modded it a little with:
Bolt buffer
Auto bolt release
Hex head take down scew
And a Extended magazine release

I have the same rifle in my arsenal. Just the number one thing I suggest to everyone that has one. Do not buy Thunderbolt ammo (comes in a green box). They jam in the gun like crazy and as far as I know is the only ammo that does it. It jammed in my gun at least once a clip for 100 rounds.

As do I, I own an 870 Express. They are reliable and fantastic buys
