I like the WOLF "match grade" ammo. I bought a case of it (litterally a case, 100 boxes of 500) for $100 a couple years ago and absolutly love the stuff. I've since shot it all up, and have switched over to the Remington big box that ussually sells for like $10 or so.

Federal Value Pack - Cycled well in my 10/22 with consistancy from one round to the next for the entire box.
Velocitors - Some times these wouldn't make the fireing mechanism reload my 10/22, at least I think it was these bullets. They were good for squirrels and rabits up close but i wouldn't want to be make'n any long range shots with them. THAT is if these are the ones I am thinking about.
CCI Stinger - Great long range power for a .22, great constancey from one bullet to the next (hardly any sound like they fired with less powder). I find they blow back my bolt on the 10/22 too hard/fast which causes the gun to jam. I have this problem with just about every clip of stingers I use. I use them in my bolt .22, but not my 10/22.
CCI Quickshot - haven't used these.
Remington Thunderbolt - haven't used these but I want to, just can't seem to find them.
Cant' make out the type of other remington bullets, says high velocity.. i don't recognise the box, so i probably havent used them.
Remington yellow jackets - excelent impact on rabbits, but very inconsitant shooting. I get at least 1 per box of 50 that either misfires or has a significantly quieter shot (less powder). I have had them not cycle the 10/22.
I usually use Winchester Wildcat .22lr bullets. I buy them in bulk (either 500 or 550 in a box) for 14.99 at wallmart. I have had the best results with these in my 10/22. In my bolt action .22 I usually use cci stingers. Each gun likes said ammunition best.

I mostly shoot the cheap crap, some times for fun I'll use Velocitors or Stingers
That reminds me, I gotta get a pic of the shootin tuck

Yeah it was at a garage sale. The WOLF is made in Russia and is known for making cheap ammo for plinking. But here recently they have made their powder a lot more uniform and consistant. The price has went up, but it's all for the better IMO.

+1 to the bolt buffers. Most of my guns are running one of them, and there is definatly a difference.
But I really like shooting .22s, and sometimes only take them to the ranges. If I blow through a thousand rounds, it's all good, because I spent $30. Not to mention I can take them to the range and have fun! When ever I take either the shotguns, or the rifles I catch myself focusing so hard on form, and skills that I leave completly exhausted and drained mentally. With .22 I can shoot all day and feel good when I leave, it's the same with the muzzleloaders too.

For your 10-22. You have to remove one screw. You know that annoying part that always falls out from the back of your reciever? That is the bolt stop, remove that, and put the buffer in that hole reseat the reciever and put the screw back in and you're done. Maybe all of five minutes.

Very easy, just remove the barrel band and unscrew the the screw thats under the forstalk, pull the stalk away. Than tap out the bolt and put the bolt buffer in. You might have to remove the receiver. For that just knock out two more pins. And don't worry, there won't be a bunch of springs flying out
I can take some pics if you need more help

oh and turd, you may not have seen my pics of my guns but my 10/22 is the 10/22 deluxe that doesn't have a barrelband. You can see it here (3rd down on the right for those who don't know what a 10/22 looks like). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v459/NSDaffy/myguns.jpg I have since take'n off that ugly scope, it belongs to my cousin and he wanted to see what it looked like mounted. I just use my tru-glow fiberoptic sights, love them!

I don't like scopes because you have to pretty much guess at where you are shooting if you find a rabbit that is within a few feet of you. Gotta aim above it and i'd rather just take aim and fire. Out to 100 yards (farthest i've tried shooting with the .22 that was a measured distance) I am accurate enough to kill coyotes. Good enough for me.

Scopes have their places, but most of my guns are open sightes. Although I'm planning on building a rifle that will be able to put all four rounds in the bottom of a coke can at 500 yards. I'm going to give up the ability to take shots under 100 yards, but reaching out there is going to be so much sweeter.

even still turd, in my experiences with the rifle sighted in at a specific distance and you fire at a rabbit up close (5 feet give or take a few) if you don't aim a bit over the rabbit you will miss it or potentially lose it if it runs.
