Okay a little background first. I wasn't feeling very good at the time, and my mom brought her dog over for me to watch for the night. He was driving me nuts, and I got bored so I decided to test out a figure four deadfall for him. I didn't want to hurt him, so I used a pillow for the crushing part. Once everything was carved up, and a treat strapped to the trigger I set the camera, and left. This is what followed......

Thanks. I had a lot of fun making the parts and setting it up. I like that dog a lot now though. I do want to try to make a huge one though to try and catch one of my labs.

I couldn't think of a better way to show how a fig. 4 worked with out reviewing hours worth of tape, and killing something. Using a pillow and a greedy dog seems to work well enough.

Well this was my first try at the figure 4 trap. I failed at my first attempt, but then I tried with 2 1/2"-3" logs. It took a while, and I did most of it with my cold steel tru flight throwing knife. That one's becoming one of my favorite knives because it has a long blade, thick spine, and cost $20 so I'm not afraid to beat on it. My trap is jumbo sized, and you could put a huge load on it. I tried it and it works fine. Where's that neihbors cat when you need it.
