Once I get everything ironed out I'm going to put together a homemade cook kit with fuel, stove, pot, and pan. Very Happy

I've just got to figure out how to light it without the pool of alcohol. Embarassed Laughing

I'm considering PJ, but I haven't tried yet. Smile

In TrooperMax's video he lights it by throwing a match into the center, a big flame shoots out and after a while the little holes will light, then the pot goes on top Very Happy

We'll, that's what I did originally, but I had problems with it going out. Embarassed

Now that I got it to run properly, I will find the best way to light it. Very Happy

It's kind of like a scientific experiment; eliminate the variables, then solve the problem. Smile

Sometimes easier said than done. Laughing

But I'll let you know what happens. Very Happy

Well, I tested it last night, and the results are in! Surprised

Drum roll, please!

(drum roll) > Drummer Dave Cool Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz roll. Laughing

My way : boiled water for 10 minutes.
The original way : boiled water for 4 minutes.

LOL, go figure. Laughing

I used the same amount of fuel in the stove, and I reused the hot water from the 10-minute boil for the 4-minute boil, and added a little(to compensate for evaporation). Very Happy

Same setup with the coke tabs, but for some reason the open topped one went out sooner. Confused

BTW, this it not total runtime, but the time the water was boiling. Smile

I hope to get some denatured alcohol soon. I hope that will give better results. Very Happy

Yes, I was using rubbing alcohol. Smile
Rubbing alcohol=Isopropyl alcohol=70% alcohol/30% other stuff. Surprised

Denatured alcohol is kind of like distilled water. More concentrated. Cool
