Once I get everything ironed out I'm going to put together a homemade cook kit with fuel, stove, pot, and pan.
I've just got to figure out how to light it without the pool of alcohol.
I'm considering PJ, but I haven't tried yet.

In TrooperMax's video he lights it by throwing a match into the center, a big flame shoots out and after a while the little holes will light, then the pot goes on top

yEp i find its the safest way, although a spark works just fine. I used my stove not long ago, its not bad, boiled water

We'll, that's what I did originally, but I had problems with it going out.
Now that I got it to run properly, I will find the best way to light it.
It's kind of like a scientific experiment; eliminate the variables, then solve the problem.
Sometimes easier said than done.
But I'll let you know what happens.

Well, I tested it last night, and the results are in!
Drum roll, please!
(drum roll) > Drummer Dave Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz roll.
My way : boiled water for 10 minutes.
The original way : boiled water for 4 minutes.
LOL, go figure.
I used the same amount of fuel in the stove, and I reused the hot water from the 10-minute boil for the 4-minute boil, and added a little(to compensate for evaporation).
Same setup with the coke tabs, but for some reason the open topped one went out sooner.
BTW, this it not total runtime, but the time the water was boiling.
I hope to get some denatured alcohol soon. I hope that will give better results.

Yes, I was using rubbing alcohol.
Rubbing alcohol=Isopropyl alcohol=70% alcohol/30% other stuff.
Denatured alcohol is kind of like distilled water. More concentrated.

I used 99% rubbing alcohol. The 70% rubbing alcohol is probable the problem

Well, I've gotten some denatured alcohol with some interesting results.
My way with the closed top - boiled for 2:15 then ran out of fuel
Open top - 6:45
Open top #2 - 6:27
Another time - 6:42
Now for my cook kit.
