Fishing season |
|
When does fishing season start in yer neck of the woods? I can not wait to get out fishing!! I am going to make another handline (out of wood) and plan to find a way to make it with a super effective reeling method (wish me luck). Aside from that I am gonna be on the river and the lake with my spinning rod. For some reason I can't find out when the season starts here... I'd say either the first or 15th of april tho... at least i think that's when it does. Man that is bad that I can't remember.

Good fishing starts here end of March. You can fish almost all year if you know where to go.
I like lake & river for trout. Any chance i can get to get out with my buds & fish is a good time .
Dusting of my gear here soon, going to Jones Lake in about a week or so with a friend that lives up in Hope.
Snow is all gone, average temp now is about 10 - 15 degress . Come on ! Spring !!

We fish whenever the mood strikes us. I've been on a frozen river bank in January and camped out on a pond bank in sweltering 107 degree heat.
That said, our best fishing starts at the end of Feburary and ends in late October.

Game fishing season starts this Saturday. I'm going to hobo fish out of my kayak, because I don't feel like using a fishing pole. I'll just have the spool of fishing line, and do it that way.

Here you have to buy a trout stamp in addition to a regular fishing license. I'm lucky, because I bought my licence when I was 17 for $7, and when you're 18 it cost $20. I'm 18 now, just glad one of my friends told me about that.

Here in B.C you have to buy a Angeling license. It cost with tax; $ 37.00 for the year.
You can fish any lake & most river & streams. When the Salmon run happens you need to buy a tag for $ 15.00
and if your want to catch Steelhead its $ 25.00 i dont bother with steelhead cause the cost doesnt justify the chance? of catching one. But anyone who has caught a steelhead says its worth it.
Im happy fishing for Trout, Kokanee, Dolly Varden, Cutthroat,. I do buy the salmon tag cause it's only $ 15.00 & i have caught, Chum, Coho, & they are fun .

In New York, Fishing is can be year round depending on what you fish. Anything classified as Pan fish can be fished year round in quantity of up to 50 per day. Pan fish are bluegill, perch, sunfish, etc. Game fish have individual seasons although some are allowed year round. Fishing License for one year is $20 and there is also a free weekend I think it is the third weekend in June or July... can't remember, but for that weekend you can catch the limits without a license.

Every state/country is different, linsleyk. Go to the nearest Fish and Wildlife office and ask them what you need or you can just ask the guys in the sporting goods department at WAL-MART. They can tell you.
Have fun fishing.

I'm sure they can tell you.
I know you guys(Brian, MS, etc..) were trying to help, but it's different everywhere. That's why I told her where to go find out.
Cheers.
Good luck, linsleyk.

depends on what you mean by saltwater fishing brother.. you realise the island i live on is surrounded by the atlantic! To fish here, troud (speckle, brown, rainbow), codfish, flatfish (not sure if that is their propper name), Atlantic salmon (only alloud to keep 2 per season after spawning), yellow purch, striped bass in the fall, ummmmmm that's all that comes to mind.... oh! bottom feeders... umm what are they called... we call them mud suckers! once again cant think of the propper name, aaand eel's. That's all that comes to mind off hand.

Now that I'm 16 I have to get a fishing license. Kids don't have to have one in Alabama, but now that I'm older, I have to have one in my possesion when I fish.
Ahh....the trials and tribulations of growing up.
I need to go get one soon. I must fish!
