This is my best grouping yet. Im still new to shooting a Longbow, there are no sight's, no arrow rest & being 64" long takes getting used too. Im practiceing my stance & posture for a good strait shot. I shot 165 arrows today. I dont have a glove yet, so, my 3 fingers start getting tender. And im punching out my homemade target pretty fast. Must invest in a store bought good one.

well, as a new member, but old one on many other sites (most of you know me), I thought I would go ahead and make my first post in the archery section.

those of you who know me know that I love archery, and I love my bow, his name is crazy stick, same as mine...

it is a traditional longbow made for me by Mike Rigazzio, It is Osage Orange, 48# draw @ 28".
im going to get it backed this summer.

well here are some pics.

the bow laying ontop of my quiver that was made by my grandma, the arrows in the quiver were handmade by my grandparents also.

there is another picture.

I have better and more pics on my other computer but will post them later.
I am pretty sure my old post is still there on wildsurvive which has more pics, also on the les boards when they come back up.

The guy that made my bow is going ot teach me this summer. And i am going to take lots of pictures and write up a nice long article on bowmaking.
it is certainly an art.

but not as hard as making good arrows from the land!

Well your the only one I know who owns one, heck i dont even know where I would buy one. But as far as hunting weaponry goes they seem the most interesting to me.

Here are my two main bows.

Up first is my 2003 Martin Phantom. 55lb, with 70% let off.

And my recurve (55lbs @28") , with Goldtip "traditional" fake wood carbon arrows. Laughing Wink

I really want either a new martin, or a hoyt later this year. Cool

Nice, i like the recurve. Im into trational archery myself. No sight's, just instinctive shooting. Much more challenging. Cool

+1 Cool I find myself trying too hard with my compound. Shooting becomes more work with that bow, I think because it's the one I hunt with so I try my hardest to make everything perfect. But the recurve is more of a fun bow, and only used for messing around or small game. It's much more relaxing to me than shooting my compound.
