Cross Bows are cool, but i wouldn't consider it a " Bow "
Its a gun that shots bolts. They are cool, my hunting buddy's friend has one. We fired it acouple of times at a rottin log . Have you ever considered buying a Bow Troop ? you can get a good used Bow for around $ 150.00
Maybe even less if you find a sweet deal from someone that just wants to get rid of it .

ya i bought my green one there for 100 bucks only im stupid cuz its the wrong hand haha but i use it anyway lol and my orange one was 25 bucks and a garage sale lol it just needed a new string and it came with a case, arrows, and arrow parts so just look around or you can always make one and for the cross bow in canada though im not 100% but to own a crossbow in canada your FAC has to say that your allowed to have one like for me im not allowed to own one because my FAC only says none restricted on it thats the course i took so even to get a handgun i have to take the restricted course or at least the test and again if i want a crossbow i yet again have to take that test to unless the restricted will let you have a cross bow.
sorry if i confused people lol

Here in Iowa to hunt with a crossbow you have to be unable to shoot a regular gun.

In Indiana, you can get a crossbow permit if you can't shoot a BOW because of a disability. Dad had a permit.

I should have been more clear. You can get a permit to hunt deer or other animals with a crossbow if you are disabled and can't use a standard bow. You are also permitted here to hunt from a vehicle if disabled as well. There is no permit system for simply owning a crossbow.

I own a PSE compound quite old, but good things don't change, is very accurate and fast I bought it in like 1983 new and never wanted for another it has taken many types of game mostly deer. But several years ago I hung it up and went to a 1950's ROOT its a cross between a recurve and a longbow and fell in love with traditional equipment and been shooting it ever since I have taken several nice bucks with it and actually my biggest to date a 9 point that field dressed 160 pounds scored 148 PY score . The Pse is a 75# with 50% letoff @ fulldraw. The Root is 56# @ my draw length 31" and both have proven very lethal all my deer were pass throughs except one buck that jumped at the string and caught him in the brisket instead of his heart as he turned into it . None of the many deer I've taken have lived more then 8 seconds after impact of my arrow I shoot Rocky Mountain 3 blades exclusively. When I get a new cam that is compatible with Windows Vista I will post some pics . As for my next challenge I'm currently working on a selfbow and when finished will make arrows and that will be my next challenge to take a nice buck with it .

Cool, shad.
I just got my bow out the other day and shot it. It had started to creep a little, so I had to adjust the sight. I don't know how to tune it.
Still shoots straight.
I accidentally bent a couple arrows, too.
My target(a pillow) was leaned up a tree stump, and some of the arrow passed through the pillow and stuck in the stump. Two were bent.
This time I leaned the pillow against a square bale of hay. Now it works great.

My bow is an old bear bow. I don't like it though, but it was only $4 at a flee market when I bought it. The rest is a crappy plastic one that wrinkles the fletchings and rips them after a while. It's acurate if you shoot it the same way every time. I shoot without sites too, and I like it. From 50 feet I can hit a 2" target fine.

flashlightfreak9 I'm a fanatic so if you have any problems or questions I'd be glad to help . just let me know. If your bow is a compound paper tuneing it is whats needed , if your bow shoots good take measurements of nock height brace height limb to limb and axle to axle and write them down and keep in a safe place I went so far as to measure exact pin placement on my sight for the compound cuz anytime you change a string etc you just dial back in these measurements and your good to go .

By the way in my opinion a good bow is one you can shoot good and have confidence in , a good man always knows his limitations quote from (Clint Eastwood)

Yeah I made my own targets too. I had a really big cardboard box and I folded it up so it's probably 10 layers. Then I duct taped the seams together and it holds together for a long time. Dozens of shots.
