Post Crafting with Leather Reply with quote
I found these bit's of leather my Dad had made a loooong time ago, i must have been about 5 or 7 years old.
Im going to make an arm gaurd with the one on the right & a string pull with the other. I thought it would be cool to use these since my Dad had made them, & now mega years later i get to craft them into something i can use. Cool The white paper cut out is a template for my string pull.

Well, ya, ........ but im lineing the string pull up with the pattern so i keep that, & the arm gaurd will have nothing but the curved corners cut off, it will be most intact. I thought about it, but thought i have something me & my Dad have made together, yet more than 30 years apart. I like that idea Smile . It's something i will have with me for a very long time, another 30 years i would think. Smile

I have the string pull made, that's all i will do with the leather. Cool My Dads work is worth more to me as it is.

Hahahaha! Sorry for the guilt trip!!! Laughing But look at it this way: You have one thing you made out of the leather, the other one you can keep the way it is. Best of both worlds! Wink

Post Leather arrow quiver. Reply with quote
In the April/May issue of Primitive Archer it has the plans for a Leather quiver with a Badger skin covering it. Does anyone know where I can leather in Northern Michigan? I like to shop locally if possible.

No, it was just a piece of leather folded, and the thread is sinew (animal tendon) with wax.

Ah, sinew. I haven't used that stuff yet.
They sell rolls of it for around $ 13.00 at Tandy Leather. How is it to work with ? interested to know. Cheers.
