Thanks Cedrone.
I think you should get a longbow ! Very Happy I dont know why i didn't do this a year ago.
Ive just come in from shooting 40 arrows, & have made some good improvment.
It's not that hard to do arrows cedrone, if you want to try it just get say 2 dowels 5/16.
And go to a place you know sells some archery stuff & pick up the field point's, fletching, & nocks.
It would have cost me $ 65+ tax for 12 arrows, i bought all the stuff & it came to with tax approx $ 37.00 Cool
But, if thats not your thing, i seen wood arrows for about $ 5.00 each in stores.
Aluminum range from $ 6.50 to as much as $ 15.00 each.
But i must say cedrone, get a longbow, great sport. Cheers Cool

Yes Doug, when you start to form the bow & you are working on the handle area, directly above that make a small notch were the arrow rest should be. Just take alittle at a time till the arrow will rest proper, and go from there. Cool

I'm certainly no expert, but the first thing that comes to mind is a simple strip of thick leather around the bow. Won't interfere with the bow mechanics itself, and provides a small rest. It would probably take some getting used to if you normally have a large rest, but if you're desire is to make something you could potentially make in the wilderness then thats what I'd go with.

> Do you know the size of the Bow ? 50" 55 " etc, & the Pull weight of the bow.
If so & you have a archery store around just phone them tell them what you got.
They will set you up right. My bow is a 64" & the string length that fit's my bow is 60".
What ever size bow you have it's always 4" less for string length.
This apply's to Longbow & Recurve only. I dont know how a compound bow is sized for string.

I was going to make a new post for this but since this is the Bow & Arrow zone i will just put it here. Cool

{ An Archer's Poem }

The pull of the bow
The string and flow
A feel for the wood
Full draw i stood

Bow of seasonal oak
Tool of past folk
Sturdy and good
Full draw i stood

Point and Feather
Both together
Shaft of wood
Full draw i stood

Arrow, true and straight
The target meets it's fate
Primitive but good
Full draw i stood
