Branches that sweep down to the ground or partly broken boughs can provide shelter, but make sure they are not likely to fall off the tree.

*make a similar shelter by lashing a broken-off bough to the base of another branch where it forks from the trunk

i think this would be a great shelter if you found the right tree... wouldn';t take long at all to make. BUT i duno about it keeping you very dry. maby if you took the boughs that you cut out of the tree to make the spot you go into and put them all over the open spots it would be better. or if you had something like a survival blanket or tarp to seal it off.

Yeah, i would think you would have to cut alot off, my fear would be that if you cur some of the broughs from underneath, it would take away some of the support and possibly colapse.

i doubt that, the trunk of the tree would be like a backbone keeping the whole thing together.

I guess. As long as you didnt touch it lol. I wish i had more pine trees around so i could make a cool shelter lol.
