What do you fish for? |
|
What species of fish do you fish for? Me, it's catfish and trout mostly, but if it swims I'll go for it.

Mostly trout!
When the kids are with me - Bluegill! They have saved EVERY fishing trip I have been on! The kids don't care what kind of fish they are, just as long as they catch something!!!

lol it's true, fishing is a great way to kill an afternoon. I actually prefer to fish alone thoe. That way noone can say when it's time to go home, and noone to turn it into a competition. Just me, the river/lake, and whatever animals come neer.

Wow....okay.
When I fish in the Cimarron River (it's about 2 miles from my house), we always camp out cause we trotline. I love hearing a huge blue slap the water at 3am!!! I also fish with a rod and reel, but by far our largest catches are on the trotline. We catch Blue Cats, Channel Cats, and some Flatheads, and of course the ever present Alligator Gar. Those things are scary at 3am! LOL
This is NOT a very flattering pic.......but hey, I'd been up all night running around chest deep in a rolling river. The fish is small, but sure was tasty!
My son usually fishes for Perch (panfish), we have several different kinds. Sun Perch, Blue Gills, etc. Also, we occasionally catch some Crappie! Oh......those things are tasty! I actually prefer Crappie over Trout. We have Trout in some of our Rivers here, but I've never "fished" for Trout. Oh, on Mem. Day we fished all day in the pouring rain, but we were catching some good ones and just didn't want to stop. My son caught a Bass on his Perch rig (worm/bobber). I've also snagged a Catfish on a topwater lure!
And my favorite......Largemouth Bass. I love to Bass fish.
So........pretty much Bass, Perch, and Catfish.

Gotta agree with TrooperMax and Survivor Kid.
Actually trout , crappie (love 'em), bass, and cats.
I very much miss fishing for halibut, and silver salmon in Kodiak with dad.
I usually divide up my time between fly-fishing catch-and-release), and "meat-fishing" for food with one of my spinning outfits.
