Broke out the bow the other day. I wasn't as rusty as I thought I would be. Surprised

I need a new target, though. Embarassed Crying or Very sad

Good choice SK909. What do you want to do ? Target shoot, Hunt, Both.
There are many choices. I myself like traditional Bows, Longbow/Recurve.

I sold my compound many years ago, to try to raise more tuition cash for college. I used it in a league and had so much fun with it... I miss those days... and I gave up my hunting days pretty much for good... but now it seems like everything's gone the hunting way with recurves, and traditional target compounds don't even exist now.

Again, I miss those early days of bow evolution, but... power to the huntsmen/women, who use them! Very Happy

Here is my { Ben Pearson Recurve Bow } i just got my hands on. These are now collector items, as they stopped making recurve bows over 20 years ago. I took it to my favorite place, Borman Archery. Ron Borman has been shooting recurve bows over 50 years, he is in his late 70'z. I told him how i got my hands on this Bow & he was floored at how little i paid.
I went to a place called, Value Village, it's a second hand store, i was looking for some cover-all's to work on my brothers Dump Truck. I was walking out & seen the top of a bow sticking out of a box. I went over & pulled it out, & i was like Shocked i looked it over it's in good condition, & the price !! LOL, $ 7.99 !.
So i told Ron this story & he was wow, you are a lucky guy Dave. He would sell this Bow to a collector for approx
$ 300. to $ 400 Very Happy . This Bow sold in 1958 for $ 14.95. lol. So im very happy with my find. This is a all Fibre Glass Bow, which Ben Pearson only made from 1958 to 1964. The reason i know that this one is a 1958 model is that all the Fibre Glass bows built were only named Strato Jet, & for 1 year Ben Pearson made a Strato Jet Target model. Cool So i bought a new Bow string for $ 10.00 & im good to go. Now i got 12 wooden arrows ordered with real feathers for fletching to keep it all as it used to be many years ago. Not this aluminum shaft & plastic fletching stuff. I like the old school type Bow shooting. Smile

You can actually still buy recurve bows, unless you mean from that company, in which case I would have absolutly no idea Laughing

I love my compound , my recurve and my longbow haven't really hunted for about 5 yrs now but I am working on a selfbow of Red Oak and will when finished have to take a nice buck with it just because I love venison and I have always been a dedicated deer hunter since age 15 I only missed 2 seasons and took a nice buck each year but those 2 and usually a doe also we have management permits in Mn allows you to take bonus deer .
