Post 5 items Part 2: The Urban survival Reply with quote
Ok guys, as you know, urban survival interests me the most. So, here is part 2: A horrible disaster took place in your home town (flood, earthquake, terror attack, anything you can think of, all happening at once), and you had to leave town on foot, but you could ONLY take 5 items that would have to fit into a normal backpack, (such as the kind used for school books), what would you bring? Due to the nature of the disaster, it will take you 5 days of hiking in the ruins of your former city to get out of the town from your current location, and the availability of supplies (food, water, etc) to loot for your survival is unknown.

In addition, because of the potential presences of looters, terrorists, and easily excitable National Guardsmen, self-defense is an issue...

Well Swat weapons arnt really my fortee but everyone's got their own thing.

Personally I would never be able to kill someone, I would only scare them, at worst mabey only shoot them in the leg or something (do or die)

I agree with that. I'm extremely passive and non-confrontational but under the right circumstances I think I could kill someone if I had to.

We are all capable of killing another human. Even people that would rather run or hide from a deadly situation, if confronted with a person thats going to kill them, the" will " to live & survive comes out, & that can lead to killing.

I just had to get my 2 cent's in Daffy, Laughing . I'll stop now. Cool

I know your just enforcing the rules Daffy but I'll make this an exeption. Sure it dosent have to do with the 5 items but truely does in Urban survival. because seriously think about this si a very realistic scenario and running over what could happen is only fair to prepare incase.

Better to be the boyscout then the helpless guy

well, since it's now on topic, i supose i could say that i would do absolutly everything to survive. I haven't killed anyone before, but i'm sure that i could if i had to. If it were me or somoene else, they better kill me cause if not it's the last wrong decision they'l make.

Id Slice a Hole big enought for the Barrel of a Barret .50 Cal SNiper Rifle.
... Haha Jk

1)Multi Tool
2)M1 Garand Or Springfield Sniper with Scope.
3) Extra Ammo
4)10x12 Green Utility Tarp
5)Folding Saw Or Hatchet

my reason for both those Rifles is that they Have Proved themselves in the Roughest Terrains in the World over and Over Again and I Would Trust my Life with One OF them.

I would Have Said AK-47 or 74 but they are too Bulky and Not Well for a Carry gun. Altho the Most Reliable Rifle in the World Id rather a Smaller Less Bulky Gun.

1) Tracker Knife
2) Cotton based rope, 100 ft
3) Scout Knife
4) Litre of Water
5) Grey wool blanket

5 days without food, I can handle that. The rest would be moving as quickly and silently as possible, probably nocturnal movement with day time hiding until I was in the woods.

Depending on the time of year, I would worry about fire, even in winter I dont think I'd want one in an urban disaster area, attract waay to much unwanted attetion.

1. Long arm, .22 with hollow points.
2. good sized knife, #4 more than likley.
3. First aid kit.
4. enough chemical water puifyers for the five days.
5. Flash light
