Very cool.
That's about all you can fit in a camera case anyway. So even if were weren't doing it just for fun, you still would have qualified.
Cool gear.
I've got to make a run to Wal-Mart today for groceries, so hopefully I can get the stuff I need for my kit there, too.

Oh dear. I was afraid this was going to happen.
I started writing down my list today of the stuff I was going to put in my kit. I filled up a page!
I'm not making an EDC. I'm making my new BOB.
It always happens this way. "Need this, oh I need that, I need those, too." Before I know it, my "small" EDC kit will weigh more than my books.
I'm going to look at backpacks today, so I'll see what I can do.
I just need to figure out how I'm going to size down some. It's all small stuff, but there is a lot of it. 33 items total.
I put over a hundred dollars worth of stuff in my shopping cart at www.basegear.com
Help me.

Well, Wal-Mart didn't have the backpack I wanted to see. I guess I'll just have to shop around some more.

Well, I got a Swiss Gear Synergy Laptop Backpack from ebay. It's awesome.
Has tons of storage with loads of pockets. WAY more than my old Belkin Larchmont laptop backpack. (which is now for sale, by the way)
The best part is that I can have two classes worth of books WITH my laptop and it doesn't feel that heavy. Not bad for a nearly 7 pound laptop.
This afternoon I spent a little time putting some basic survival gear into it. Most of the stuff came from my Camelbak Ranger, but there are still a couple things that I need from Basegear. I've gotten my shopping cart total price down to around $50. Better than the $150 that it was before! I decided that instead of buying more of the same stuff I had, I would just put the originals in my backpack (if I had to bug out, I would reach for the Swiss backpack anyway).
But yeah, here's a list of the stuff I have in it. Not all of it is survival gear. It's just everything that stays in it all the time.
AMK Ultralight and Watertight .5 FAK
Ziploc with needle and floss, lighter, pencil w/ duct tape, fishing kit, straw water filter, bandana, pj cotton, wet-fire tinder, small box of 32 large matches(I cut off kitchen matches to fit in small match box), and a tiny spare compass
sharpening kit(diamond rod, ceramic rod, diamond plate, whetstone, stropping leather, and stropping cardboard)
poncho
Light My Fire Swedish Firesteel w/ fatwood and jute
Adventure Medical Kits Heatsheets Bivy sack
Adventure Medical Kits Rescue Howler whistle
paracord
Brunton Nexus 3 Expedition compass with Ultimate Survival Star Flash Mirror in protective bandana
Leatherman Wave multitool
Bell Airstrike 1000 Frame Pump
just used my spare tube on a flat, need to get another before Monday
crescent wrench
tire levers
toothbrush and toothpaste (eating lunch or supper on campus can require some teeth cleaning!)
calculator
daily planner (I don't live and die by it like some people do, but I do write important dates to remember in it)
pencil, click eraser, and two pens
hacked USB charging cable for my phone
wired earbuds
Surefire 6PL with SC1 spares carrier (6 spare batteries)
Princeton Tec Fuel headlamp
folders with various papers that I need for school
USB flash drive
deodorant (in case I forget to put some on as I rush out the door when I'm running late!)
scratch paper (waste printing paper)
3 x 5 index card spiral notebook (good for keeping all the geometry, algebra, trig, and calculus formulas handy)
I think that's all that's in there.
I still need:
Lightload Towel
Ultimate Survival Wet-Fire Stove
Adventure Medical Kits Fresh Bath Travel Wipes (8 pk)
GSI Bottle Cup for Wide Mouth Water Bottles
Adventure Medical Kits Oral Rehydration Salts (3 Pack) (that's more for my hiking kit, but I'll probably throw one of them into my EDC stuff)
If I had a camera, I would take some pics, but alas, I do not have one. That's on my Christmas list.
That is all.

That's quite a bag of tricks you got going there .
Hope you saved that flat bike inner tube to use as Ranger Bands.
So anyway...WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT AUBURN FOOTBALL TEAM YESTERDAY????
They cost me $10.00 !

Thanks.
Yeah, I always save my flat tubes. They have a thousand uses.
I'm not sure what happened yesterday. It looked like the football team didn't show up until after half-time, if you know what I mean. I thought they might make a comeback, but that hope was short-lived.
Sorry about the 10 bucks. If I were you, I wouldn't have bet against Arkansas. You should have bet against those crappy teams like LA Tech and Ball State.
But yeah, back to the gear.....now that I have all my stuff, I feel a little better about having whatever I need, when I need it. I got two more bike tubes this afternoon, by the way. I'll probably only put one in there, but at least I won't have to run to the store when the next one blows.
UPDATE
Okay, I have officially overstuffed it. That didn't take long.
I'm going to have to reorganize and take some unnecessary stuff out.

Ahh...I haven't bought anything yet. I've only put things I already had into my backpack. (see list above)
There's a couple of things that I still want, but just haven't gotten yet.
