Just thought I would say hi, I've been lurking around reading some of the threads.
I live in North West Michigan and always try to learn all I can about survival, I've been thinking about adding a survival catagory to my hunting forum so I'm doing a lot of research..
See ya around.. Wink

You're very welcome. Cool

Feel free to browse the entire forum and chime in whenever necessary. We do, however, require users to be respectful of others even if they disagree. I assume that will not be a problem, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

We usually have a few "creative discussions" every now and then. Wink Occasionally, it turns into an argument or a meaningless quarrel and the topic is locked. But feel free to speak your mind. Just remember to be respectful of others and they will do the same to you.

Cheers. Cool

Hey " Snake " welcome to the forum. Michigan is a great place to be an outdoorsmen Cool
If i was to move to the states it would be my place to live. I have a book on Michigan State Parks.
Its a good read and lets me see the area in and around Michigan. Doesn't Ted Nugent live in Michigan ?

Cheers.

He has a ranch in Texas and one in Michigan. As to which one is his official home, I'm not sure.

But if I ever was in Michigan, I would definitely go visit Uncle Ted. Cool

I think he lives in Texas, but he does have some property here in Michigan still. I was thinking about emailing him, I raise russian boars and need a new bloodline and I think he has some at his Michigan ranch.

> Ive met lots of people in the hunting areas i have been in with 1 of my hunting buddys Darren. Met guys from USA, EUROPE, JAPAN, its pretty cool.
They spend ALOT of money on tags to hunt here. Alot of them go with guides so they are sure to get there game tag.
Im some what new to hunting myself, ive been out lots with guys tracking, i like that.
And im now wanting my first Buck Cool Maybe this year ? im kind of picky.
I want the BIG BUCK & have let go alot of other bucks that my buddy would have taken.
But if its in my line of sight, & i choose to let it go, then thats it,, that deer is free for that day.
My buddys wont take it till the next day, if he see's it. Im not so much a " sport " hunter.
I take only what i will eat, i dont look for trophys just to mount on a wall.
And those that do is cool, to each his or her own Cool
If your ever over in this neck of the woods, just let me know ! Cheers

I agree with you on that, I hunt to eat. I love venison more than trophies. I try to kill several each year but it all gets eaten. I'm sure it will be a few years before I make a hunt that way but it's on my bucket list..
