Alright guys, sorry for the long wait, here are a few to get you going, Im on my way out the door, but Ill get more up in an hour, with more text and what not as well.
My PFD and most used gear, the only thing not showen are the vhf radios we carry. The PFD is roots make, its a clone of the Sholquist wedge-E model, but 40 bucks cheaper, and I bought it locally. Its fits nice, I need some pouchs to attach to it, but other then that im good to go.
Here is the pack that im using for my 24hours pack. I have it set-up for bare minimum of gear, I do need a larger one, but that will come later.
And of course contents.
When I can, I take my pack and throw it in the boat then wear the pfd, but when I land I like to go with a bare kit on a vest, this is the vest I got a while ago, its works perfectly and makes everything I need very acessible.
And contents of this, again bare minimum, just what I need to get me through a night. Both kits include two ways to purify water, on chemical the other by fire.
And ducttape and a garbage bag I forgot to include.
So there you have it guys, what I take with me on a search, please ask any questions you might have.

Great gear!
Why the camo makeup on a search?

Not for the camo, for the mirror, its just to tide me over until I get a dedicated signal mirror.

You're set up pretty good Sir
It's just a matter of observing what gear your team mates carry & go with the flow.
Our teams around here don't do any swift water SAR...that's left for the local LEO/Fire fighters to do. Those guys are on top of it!!!
This is what we carry on a ground search/building collapse deal:
Nothing too exciting...just the basic stuff we might need to haul somebody out of a jam.
Some of it's personal use gear...toilet paper, snack bars...PFAK,& some of it's for the subject of the search.
We carry a dedicated trauma kit for patient use ( in the right side pocket on the belt).
You have a good start on your SAR gear.
Thanks for signing up & congratulations to your sis
Uncle Fonly....sounds GOOD!!!
Cliff

Great, thanks for the pics cliff. We luckily haven't had to deal with a urban environment...yet.
But I have a MAK-1 rescue tool that I carry in a kit for around the city. I personally haven't got into the rappelling training yet, just the swift water and wilderness trekking. But our group has been talking extensively about more training in the urban setting. because were also working with mostly our own gear, we need to find a way for all of to be in touch while in the city. When we were out last week we had our radios, but they are provided with a local amateur emergency radio service shows up. other than that, we have to communicate by cell, which doesn't all ways work.
Right now, what I need to add:
New pack: Maxpedition Falcon II for a 24 hour kit
I want to get a new vest set-up, something from civilian labs
Some heavier rope
New light, fenix ta-30, im a freak for gear:lol:
Some israeli bandages
I must say though, its nice to be evolved with the community. Its nice to be friends with some of the PD, FD and EMS workers in the city, you have a healthy understanding on how things are going in the city.

We have the same deal with the radios that we use.
A couple team members also belong to the Ham Radio Operators club here & they provide us with communications.
They have a very impressive trailer full of electronics.
They're usually set up by the time we get to the site.
Only one radio per team & only one radio operator.
They're real strict on the protocol & it keeps the air clear for only vital talk.
That works well too because those guys seem to have thier own language
After you're in it for awhile, try to get some confined space training too.
The more you have on your skills card the more callouts you'll get to be an active part of.
Right now I'm good to go in Wilderness SAR,Confined Space entry & rescue, low angle rope rescue & urban SAR along with my HazMat Level A Tech Certification.
But it's been kinda quiet around these parts lately .
The ongoing training is though.
Check out http://rescuetech.com/ or http://www.rocknrescue.com/ for some good rescue gear.
