I knew nobody was going to bail this week -- morale was too high, they weren't miserable enough. Really, not much happened this time. But the preview of next week looks pretty dramatic.

With this week's episode of "Survive This", Les got as wicked to the viewers as he did to the teens. More on that in a moment.
This time the teens were divided into 2 groups: the 3 best (let's call them Team A), and the 4 worst (let's call them Team B).
They were blindfolded and taken deep into the woods. Each team had some basic gear including batteries, steel wool, watches, etc. They were instructed to camp for one night, not to try and find the other team, and to head east in the morning to be picked up.
Team A did rather well. They acquired food, got a fire going, and turned in for a good night's rest in their shelter.
And Team B? Did they get their act together? Did one of them emerge as a leader to organize them into working as an effective team? Could they find anything to eat? Were they able to start a fire using a battery and steel wool? No. No. No. And no. They couldn't agree on anything. Instead of whatever good qualities they might have had rising to the surface, all their bad qualities as a 'team' took over. They couldn't even remember what direction the sun rises in.
Then the viewers were left hanging. It was the middle of the night. One of the members of Team B look like he was near death, and we found that this challenge would be continued next week! Surprised Evil or Very Mad

Finally, we got to see the outcome of the latest challenge.
Both teams had to head east, with only a watch to use for nagivation, go around a small lake that was in their way, and find Les in a clear area. It was supposed to be a 5 hour hike. It sounds straightforward, but talk about thinning the herd. Surprised
Team 1 did okay, except when they got to the lake; they took what turned out to be the long way around. They dragged themselves to the finish point 10 hours after they set out. At least they got there.
Team 2 all woke up alive in the morning - no mean feat - and somehow managed to set out in an eastwardly direction. Although their teamwork and bushcraft skills were still lacking, they arrived at their lake and proceeded to go around it. At least, that's what they thought they were doing. Actually, they got hopelessly lost and ended up closer to their starting point Shocked than to anything else. I guess their collective sense of direction only works in the morning. If they had been out there on their own, they would have been crow chow. As it turned out, Les sent a rescue crew to bring them in. I wonder if the people working on this show had trouble keeping straight faces while filming the antics of Team 2.
At least Team 2 was able to finally agree somethat on something. When asked if anyone wanted to go home, almost all of Team 2 had had enough.
Next week, the challenges promise to be even tougher yet, with a special surprise thrown in. Twisted Evil
