Yea that would be cool if he did it for older folks. I'm sure He wouldn't have a shortage of volunteers to do it.

Things got serious with this week's episode of "Survive This"
For those who want to know:
As Les pointed out, up until now, it was just a step or 2 below camping. Time to ramp things up.
Les got the kids up in the middle of the night, gave them a GPS unit, and send them hiking miles through the bush in search of several caches. This took them well into the next day. At each cache they had to choose one of 3 survival aids to take with them. Sometimes they made the best choice. (Such as a mag stick over matches, etc.) Sometimes they made poor choices, (Such as a few bottles of water over purifying tablets. They are in an area with more fresh water than anywhere on earth; all they have to do is purify it.).
Finally, after hours of tramping around, they arrived at a finishing point. If any of them had watched many reality tv shows, they would have seen where this was going. But their jaws dropped when Les told them that they would not be going back to their camp by the bus. They were going to be put on a nearby floatplane with only the clothes on their backs and whatever they had chosen to take from the caches, and taken to an even more remote location.
One participant accepted the offer of bailing out.
Injuries continue at a rate of one per episode. At this rate, they will be lucky if something serious doesn't happen in the more remote location. I wonder what kind of waivers their folks had to sign.

By dropping tablets into the nearest lake?
Purification tablets are worthless without an appropriately-sized container to hold the water, which they didn't have ... I would take the bottled water, as the bottles are reusable. But the kids took the bottled water, and discarded the bottles after drinking it.

What, that wouldn't work?
Seriously, they can make a container from natural materials (such as basket weaving, or by using hot coals to hollow out a piece of wood) or even use a boot, then make it water-tight using a raincoat. I believe Les commented that the tablets would have been a better choice than the bottles of water.
Lara - You're welcome.

And Les was wrong on that one.
If you can improvise a container, you can boil your water. That's far more reliable than using tablets in an improvised container of unknown volume.

Yea i would think that boiling the water would be better than relying on the tablets.

I saw a commercial for this on Cartoon Network, here in the States the other day. It makes me excited. Unfortunately, I came in too late to see when it is airing here.

I looked for it on Cartoon Network, but didn't see the show yet.
It may still be a month or twp before it airs there.
I'm sure Les will let us know when it'll show on there. He usually is
pretty good about keeping us in touch with things like that.

I'm glad you guys are going to be able to see the show soon, since it's so good.
Now for the spoilers:
In this week's episode, Les sent the gang down a river filled with rapids in an inflatable raft. They had lots of fun until they reached the pointed branch that Les had positioned sticking up from the rocks in the river. Suddenly, the word 'inflatable' no longer applied. Les called them ashore, then told them they had to cross to the other side of the river and spend the night there. Remember, they were soaking wet, cold, and had virtually no supplies, and no food. They got a fire going, but were pretty miserable. In the morning, Les called them to cross back to his side of the river. (I wonder where he spend the night?)
I can't imagine what Les has in store for them next, but no one bailed out. It looks to me that everyone in the group now wants to see it through to the bitter end, either because they want to meet the challenge, or because they want to prove to the others that they can do it.
