What's your favorite cheap meal for under 10 bucks? |
|
Since I am currently looking for a job I have been living on the cheap for a few weeks now trying to conserve my money. I am interested in what everyone's favorite cheap meals are so could you tell me?
Here are some ones I use:
Tuna Sandwich (tuna+mayo+bread) with Chips (Tuna=50-70 cents, Mayo about 10 cents, bread about 20 cents, 1/5th a bag of chips about 20 cents)
Top Ramen w/ Veggies (Top Ramen+Soft Spread Butter+1/3rd bag mixed veggies) (Top Ramen 10 cents, 2-3 spoons of spread 10 cents, Mixed veggies bag is 80 cents so about 25 cents for 1/3rd a bag)
The Classic PB&J (Do I need to explain?) (bread about 20 cents, PB and J about 20 cents) (not the best but easy, and sweet, grape jelly is the cheapest)
White Rice + Mixed Veggies (same as Top Ramen but with white rice instead) (White rice=10 cents)
Pancakes+syrup (Pancakes about 10 cents to 20 cents depending on the mix, syrup about 10 cents)
Thats all I got for now, I would post sandwiches but I don't like sandwiches much and there not as cheap as the listed ones. Tonight my top ramen came out really good with the butter flavoring and mixed veggies it was the first time I made it with the veggies and I think I will have to try it more often.

Pasta is always cheap, as is a jar of sauce.
Don't forget to get your protein though, eat an egg, make sure you get something in there...

A couple of egg rolls or samosas for $1.29 each from the Open Window Bakery in the mall near me, plus one of their rumballs and a bottle of ice tea or aloe juice to wash it all down with makes a good, cheap lunch.

I eat a lot of sandwiches: pb and honey, turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, grilled ham and cheese, toasted cheese, leftover meat(usually chicken and such).
I also eat tortillas a lot: ham and cheese or turkey and cheese rollups, cheese quesadillas, chicken and cheese quesadillas.
Fish sticks, Easy Mac, chicken nuggets, corn dogs, canned soup, corned beef hash, baked potatoes.
Eggs, grits, and biscuits. Pancakes.
Turkey burgers. I know that sounds weird, but they are really good. Wal-Mart's beef has the most digusting fluids come out of it when it's cooked, so I quit eating beef hamburgers. If you put a little Dale's sauce on the turkey when you start cooking it, it gives it lot of flavor. That's what I had for supper, as a matter of fact. Yummm!!! Go buy some ground turkey, and try it. I think you'll like it.
I used to eat Ramen noodles a lot, too, but my mom quit buying them. So I quit eating them.
That's all I can think of for now.
