Well this bread recipe comes from a video game called Deus Ex. It actually works and I'm making some now as I type. It's a pretty dense bread, and it's pretty sweet. It would make a good backpacking bread. Cool

    1 3/4 cups hot water
    3 T. sugar
2 T. vegetable shortening or oil
    6 cups plain flour
    2 T. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt

Add sugar and oil to hot water, stir til sugar is dissolved and allow to cool until barely warm.

Sift remaining dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl, and gradually draw together with your hands. It should be soft, but not sticky.

On a flour board, knead dough about 5-8 minutes, or til smooth and elastic. Return to bowl, cover with damp cloth and let rise at least 1 hour.

It doesn't say baking instructions but I'm assuming 350*. Also it may be dry so just wet your hands a few times when kneading dough.

Ok I cooked it, and I have some tips to improve it.

Do not add the baking powder to the water seperately, because all the reaction will happen right there. You want to get it inside the dough before it starts to react or else the dough wont rise, and it'll be very dense. Also this bread takes a long time to cook.

Dues Ex is a great game, played it all the way through a couple times.

I always used cheat codes. Wink It's still fun that way too.
