I've been trying out the video feature on my still camera. Here are 3 clips that I've uploaded.
You will need a password to view them. The password is: Canada
This one is a 360 degree view of a forest:
http://www.vimeo.com/2300226
This one is at the river. It's just meant to be a relaxing 3 1/2 minute video of water flowing. But at the 2 minute 15 second point, carefully watch the still water at the left.

I went in for a closer look at the unexpected star of the previous video:

Good stuff Bushrat. Your still camera has sound very nice.
Indeed that is a spawning Salmon, its that time of year. Thats why it appears to look injured, but its not.
Thats how they change when spawning, they can get very ugly ........

Thanks everyone. These are just first attempts with a still camera; maybe later I'll have something more polished.
Yes, Drummer, the camera has stereo sound. I tried it at a couple of outdoor concerts and people who hear it are blown away by the sound quality.
That's interesting to know about the salmon. I thought maybe Bear Grylls took a nibble from it.

haha I was just gonna comment on how it looked like Bear Grylls got to the fish before you did. Yeah spawning salmon have a drive unlike any other to get to their spawning waters and actually stop eating usually before they head up the river they came from. The journey takes such a toll on their bodies that the body starts eating itself for energy to finish the journey. That is why they die after spawning. Great vids

Yesterday I went to a local ravine with my camera. I knew there were deer in various wooded areas in Toronto, but this is the first time I have seen one in town. I never dreamt that I would ever be able to get more than a glimpse of one, let alone get footage like this. As you can see, the deer was aware I was there, and we just kept looking at each other - like a couple of silly buggers, really - for several minutes.
To see the video, go to http://www.vimeo.com/4187517 and use password Canada
To see a couple of still photos and read more about this encounter, see the Bushrat's Photos thread in the Photos section.

I talked about the injury in the photo thread:
http://www.fourseasonssurv.s3.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1542&start=200
The way it ran past me initially, I have to wonder if it was fine then, but injured itself just after it got out of my sight. I don't believe that it was 2 different deer.

That's what I thought, too, then I saw it do it a few more times and I realized it was a twitch or something in its eye.
It's not the first time I've thought "Hey, that cute dear over there winked at me. No, wait, it's just a twitch or something......"

You're welcome, Lara.
That beeping you can hear early on is the microwave: my bacon was ready! The storm interrupted my breakfast. To shoot it, I was hanging out the side door, just protected enough by the roof overhang.
