That's an interesting teaser... I dont know what to think about it though. It sounds like he actually got lost, but I mean why would they use that as a teaser? I dont get it, except we know he obviously survived...
What I'm trying to say is, was the search staged or real? Guess we'll find out when the season comes. Sure teased me

^ Ya, i scratched my head too ? if it was " staged " maybe its to show the rescue team at work ? & maybe he use'es his " Spot "

They would find him right away with a SPOT though, it sends a GPS transmission every 5 minutes. With those helicopters they should be able to find him in a matter of minutes
I think your first guess is more likely, to show how a search and rescue party works. Possibly to give advice on how to be more easily found by a ground group?

Oh by the way... I was looking through the other posts on here and they are looking for him in a simulated search and rescue tonight. Found it in a post from stephanie on another part of the forum.

They didn't have a specific spot to meet at so you go to see them in real action.
They just knew who they were looking for. It was cool to see the S.A.R. in action
