Hi everyone.
I saw this demonstrated somewhere...can't recall where...& thought it would be worth a try.
This is a first attempt & needs some refining, but it works.
It can be raised high above your fire:
A better shot of the works:
Lowered closer to the fire:
And swung away from the fire:
I'll work on it & get it looking better.
Today was just such a nice day,I thought I'd get outside & try this.

That's pretty cool! Never thought to do something like that.

This version works better. |

Make some sticks look like this:
Get your fire supplies ready:
Hook it up to look like this:
Now your cooking
P.S.-I'm now totally convinced of the value of an axe

This was on hoodlums awhile ago. Someone made one of metal.

Yeah , it's been around in different places.
I think I saw a video made by an English Bushcrafter named Sean Mulhall that uses it.
It's fun working on these things. It gets me out of the house.

Great idea we make them alot mostly out of metal but is a drag to carry extra stuff like that. I prefer to make my extras out of junk wood laying around if possible nothing to carry and nothing wasted.

Well done Cliff, i like that. The only thing i can see that may ? give a person a problam is useing rope/cord to hold that third stick.
It could burn/catch fire ?. Maybe use " Spruce root " to tie it off.
Although one wouldn't have a huge fire going so i doubt it would catch fire, but a possibility.

Yeah , I was thinking that same thing.
Plus , if I learn how to tie it with some bark or roots , it would make it "all natural".
It's always amazing to learn how much you can do with just what's already out there.

Cliff | Ya, nature is pretty cool. Provides use with many things. I really like that set up though, its inspired me to get out and make one.

Cool, Cliff!
I'm going to try this the next time I'm out in the woods.

You could use wire. It won't get burnt up. Although, green vines/natural cordage would be just as effective. Whatever you have access to, I guess.
