First Aid Training |
|
How many of you actually went through a first aid class? I have gone through it many times in boy scouts, and in health class. I don't think many people try to learn that much because it's not interesting to them. You can get CPR, and First Aid certified through a Red Cross program. I know the Air Force thinks it's more important now, so I'll get a week of self-aid, and buddy-aid classes at basic training.

No. I've read Health books in school that outline the proper procedures, but I haven't taken an actual course.
I have AMK's medicine book, also.

CPR through school, and I cut myself enought to get some practice in now and then lol. I don't remember much of the CPR though.

Well CPR is changing all the time anyways. I think if they haven't done it already they're going to change it to just doing chest compressions, and no breathing.

I would recommend any good wilderness medical class, great training, and fun. Mine was a week long, we camped in the wilderness and had actual doctors that taught parts of the class.

I think my Air Force training will be a week also, I'm looking forward to it.

I was a Advanced EMT for many years. Have had Wilderness search and Rescue courses, High Angle/High Rise Rescue courses. I still work in the medical field but at a higher level now.

Yep, It's the second half of a required class in our school. Anyone over the age of 15 that has taken the class is CPR certified!
