How to Compass Books. |

Anyone have a suggestion for a how to book for compass use?

I bought my compass book at my local outfitter. I beleive it was published by Falcon. I'd say any book will do, because really it's not that complicated of a subject, at least the basic concept isn't. Most any map and compass book will do the trick.

It is one of the reference books that was in the link you posted Drummer. I could preview the first 36 pages on one of the websites and it looks real informitive and well layed out.

that should be great sparky, because it'll teach you how to apply it in the backwoods with an orienteering compass.

I can't wait till the end of September now. We go on a Moose hunt each year and I plan to use the topo maps and what I learn from the book to try a newly learned survival skill hopefully.

Yeah good thing to know especially for hunting. Just curious, how are you going to keep track of the distance you travel so you can see it on the map? Personally I have a brunton pedometer, and it doesn't use batteries which is great.
