You posted the cycling site just in time, Drummer. I have to repair the front shifter on my bike and it tells how to do it. Another good resource is "Richard's Bicycle Book". (I'll get the details soon.) I've had my copy for years and I don't know if it's in print these days. The author is a bit of a character, but his book has absolutely everything about bikes and bicycle maintanance.
I started getting into the Tour de France last year. But each time I saw someone doing well, the next day I would read that they were disqualified, so I stopped watching. I might check it out again this year, if those guys can stay off the Red Bull or whatever it is they were on last year. Laughing

> Bushrat; I know its so frustrating when i see people that just get into the Tour De France just to see some riders get the boot cause of possible drug use. Ive been watching it for yeasr now & its a small amount of riders doing this, but its all that negative news that gets posted. For insatnce > Lance Armstrong < Now the worlds best cyclist in the Tour was the most tested rider in history, end he always passed. There were alot of people that wanted to see him go down & believe it or not, there still are people that want to strip him of at least 1 of his wins, insane. The man that ran the tour de france for 20 years has steped down because of alot of flack he is getting about rumours that it was him behind the guys to drill Lance & pay people to come forward and lie about Lance doing drugs just so he could be stripped of some of his wins Rolling Eyes .
There has been alot of big changes done with testing and regulations. This year they are saying it will be the cleanest Tour in over 7 years Smile Alot of anti drug users are now invovled with this Internation race. So there will always be rumours and such, but thats just part of it. So tune in July 5'th its day 1 of The " Tour De France " Cool Thats great that link helped you out Bushrat Cool

Smile Excellant linsleyk that your into the Tour. Cool People think, oh man, how boring, but its not ! lol, theres alot going on. A simple wipe out changes the whole standing in seconds.

I don't have a pro bike at all, and I'm really not a great rider or in great shape. But I do enjoy riding.

The book I use is "Richard's Bicycle Book" by Richard Ballantine, published by Ballantine Books Confused . It has tons of great illustrations by John Batchelor that show you how to do any maintance and repairs. The copyright is 1972, and the edition I have is from the '80's. You can try the usual sources to see if it's still in print.

My brother actually has a hybrid bike. It has 2 pairs of tires, one pair's a road tire, and the other's a mountain bike tire. I think I've seen what you're talking about though. Smile

Eh, chain sticks every 5 miles or so, and tires don't hold air well, but o well lol.

Tires and chains can always be replaced. My hybrid is about 15 years or so old and only about half of it is original. Laughing

I have one like that. 1978 Schwinn Stingray. Candy Apple red. Needs a new paintjob though, and a shifter tune up Razz
