Voteing is a good thing for sure. Its the only way " we " the people of the planet get a say. And it really can make a differance.

I already contacted Vermont to get my absentee voting ballots set up, so they'll come automatically to me, so I can vote in this year's HUGE election. Didn't want to do a last minute scramble sort of thing.
I can't vote in Canada though, need to be a citizen for that and I'm on the fence on getting my citizenship, as I don't want to give up my American citizenship...not sure if I can do duel and have been putting off going to the american embassy as it's rather a pain in the butt to go there with the long lines and many security checkpoints. We need to for Ayla too though...nothing like procrastination!

I understand... have done some immigration/INS work.
Not sure dual citizenship is an option for you, Steph, but I'd consult with a U.S. and a Canadian attorney before you accidentally do an unknown boo-boo that may be irreversible.
Not saying that Canadian citizenship is a "boo-boo" ... but, just by filing for Canadian citizenship (thinking dual) you might accidentally unknowingly surrender your U.S. citizenship.

Dobry, that's why I want to go to the American Embassy, it's only ten minutes from me, well maybe longer finding parking downtown, but you get the picture. I really don't want to give up my American citizenship...I know some people may not think it's a big deal, but it is to me for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I love living in Canada, it's wonderful up here...but that's the last thing I have left from home and since we won't be moving back to the States anytime in the near future, at least not until the economy improves a lot down there, I don't want to give that up.
I do know some people that have duel citizenship though, so it can be done. Probably when you pay enough....LOL

hehe, yep.
Just trying to get you to be careful and well-prepared. Changing citizenship from any country to another, can be a landmine for folks, and I've known people to make mistakes in filings and the process that caused huge problems for them, such as getting stuck twixt-n'-tween in citizenship-limbo ("without a country").
Dave... hehe

Sounds like a good plan to me.
Aww crap...Obama's winning.
At least we know he'd lose in China.
