Ashes are very good for a garden, such as from your fireplace or a bonfire pit.

Do you have fire laws where you live, Dutch? I know where I'm from you can only burn at certain times and if it's dry, not at all for the risk of forest fires. You may want to call the fire department or police to double check the laws on that in your area if you don't already know.

Or if you're on good terms with your neighbor, maybe ask him to only burn at certain times, that the stink goes right in your window. If not, maybe it's time for a flaming bag of poo on his doorstep...

that restrict the use of a firepit outside, but I think the burn barrels are treated differently. It has to do with people thinking they have a right to burn garbage, which I don't see a problem with burning paper products, but it is just stupid to burn plastic.

I tried two years ago to get them to put their garbage out with mine because I have a 5 bag limit on my garbage pickup each week and I would only use two or three bags a week. Unfortunately, the parents had their daughter, her husband and three kids move into a garage that they built, and they put out 5 or 6 bags a week. I couldn't put out my own garbage because I would have been charged extra. So I had to put a stop to it. Now the kids have moved out but the parents seem to be back to burning garbage.
I don't think putting a bag of poop on their door step is going to help. They are nice people but they are the type that have a old school bus full of wood, with 6 broken down cars, and a dog with mange. Why would they notice the bag of poop?

They have an open top burn barrel without holes in the sides, does anyone know a better burn barrel system? I know this isn't exactly green trying to make a better burn barrel for them, but I am trying to make the air better for my family. Is there an indoor outdoor fan with a charcoal filter?
