Great pics, Cliff N Very Happy

Heres a bird snare:

I tried it once in the back yard when I was a kid, I didn't catch anything but it did work on sticks and my finger Laughing

You can also use a hanging rock as the force to close the loop, instead of a bent stick. Very Happy

Fortunately, I've seen one of these used. That picture isn't very informative, turd. Confused

I'll see if I can find a better one. Very Happy

At least, I think that's what it is. Confused

Looks like Russian to me too Laughing

When the bird lands on the stick the stick falls and the knot is then able to be pulled though the hole in the vertical stick and the snare catches the bird's foot Very Happy

I got it to work , but either we have the smartest birds in town here or they just don't like the cinnamon raison english muffins that I used for bait Embarassed I don't like them either...that's why I used them for bird bait.
All I've caught in it so far are a bunch of ants....evidently they're stupid & like the bait. Who knew???? I just realized that I may have just set the worlds goofiest looking ant trap Mad
It's staying put , set up in the backyard near the woods until something with meat on it gets in there Mad .
If it's anything bigger than a bird though it'll have no trouble flippin' that trap over & escaping my evil intentions.
I ain't quittin' till I catch somethin' for I am now on a mission.

eric

Thanks for the pic!!!
That one looks too good not to try.
I used a heavy piece of wood instead of the spring pole:

Here's where the string goes through the hole:

I'm hoping I'll have some luck with this one but with all the rain we're having the last 2 days I haven't seen or heard a bird for awhile.
Thanks again....Cliff
