Up sized neck-knives. |
|
I've been looking for a new neck knife, to sorta double, as a fishing knife.
Been looking for/at knives like the Coldsteel spike.
And some of the Ka-bar Tdi models.
So what do you guys think, anything pop into mind?

Those both look good Fonly.
Here's my favorite - & only - necker:
Just under 4 inch blade , laminated steel , nice & lightweight.

I'm not familiar with neck-knives, but those look pretty good, Fonly.
I was going to suggest a Mora, but it seems Cliff has already.
Nice knife, by the way.
What's the duct tape for?

Just there to hold the cord on the sheath
I hated that little plastic piece that Mora uses for the belt loop , so I cut it off & taped the para cord there instead.
I have another one with a shorter piece of cord that I can wear on a belt.

I always thought those ka-bars look really weird. Looks like a partially opened folding knife. To me I think the angle would be awkward.

I think they're designed for police. Don't they help so that you stab sooner

The angle would help me, I allways end up minipulating my blade in some way. The ka-bar is designed for a better shearing motion which would help in cleaning game, especially fish.

The bright green would make it easy to find if you dropped it.

Yeah, it looks weird to me, too.
Whatever suits you, Fonly.

The TDI LDK was designed with police in mind... i can't remember if there is a specific "police" modle. Terribly short blade for stabbing, looks like it would be more for slashing (way less lethal)
I could see it being used, as said, for fish but i think that for the money you would pay for it you could pick up a mora and modify the sheath... Then you'd have a bit more length... unless of course the flash of it floats your fancy..
If I was going to buy a kabar TDI it would be the TDI Law Enforcement Ankle Knife... pictures to follow.
