But seriously...The wood I used in the pictures is some old dried out maple that i split for the trap. I guess just about any easily carved wood of the proper size will do.
I have found that green wood works better than dry wood...easier to carve , less splintering , easier to find.

Yeah, green wood works better, although it gets juice all over your blade. Mad

I like green maple the best. Very Happy

I found some wood but it's not green. maybe I will use it for a bow drill. Very Happy

the wood i used in my figure 4 that i posted was dried up drift wood... it work'd for the vid but nder any kinda weight i woulda ratherd it be not so dried out so it would bend rather then break...
