--- Advanced A-Frame Shelter --- |
|
An advanced A-Frame is very similar to a plain A-frame (otherwise known as Debris shelter). However I had added a few additions to make it more practical and efficent.
Lets face it, its rare you will be able to find a good rock to build the shelter beside, so you have to make due with what you got. First build a basic a-frame (refer to --- A frame --- thread). Make sure the unit is leaned upon a tree and not a rock. Then just lean polls from the tree to the ground and add spruce, leaves whatever. The point of the extra part around the tree is to keep in heat, and keep your stuff dry (you can put it there and have room to strentch out) It should look like this:

Now pick a side of the shelter where you want the fire, and you can set it up there. On the opposite side (The entrance) You can make a door to sheild yourself from the elements. Use whatever you can, be creative.

Nah i never got to, which really sucked, though i did spend a few good hours inside.
I was really busy then with school.
This year i might make one to spend the night if i have the time.
I just test them in bad weather and cold weather to make sure they work good.
