Check this out. It says that 6 volt batteries are packed with 32 AA batteries:

http://www.gagfilms.com/6volt.html

I don't have a 6 volt battery that I want to bash in order to check the validity of this with. Does anyone want to check on this?

I've never took one apart, but I HIGHLY doubt that it's true.

They use stacked cells in 6 volts and 9 volts. You won't find a bunch of AAs wired together.

Go buy some AAs if you want some! Wink

Well. Confused I don't know why you say that! Laughing

I'm inclined to disbelieve that there are AA batteries inside a 6 volt battery. For one thing, they don't make larger batteries by putting a bunch of AAs together. (Is that how they make car batteries? Shocked ) For another, it says there are 32 AAs in a 6 volt battery. At 1 1/2 volts per AA, that's 1.5 times 32 = 48 volts, not 6 volts. Unless they wire some of them in series and some in parallel. Even if there were a bunch of AAs in a 6 volt battery, they would likely not be built to the same specs as AAs that are sold as such, and might not last too long or put out very many amps once a couple of them are separated from the herd.
C'mon, someone get a camera and a 6 volt battery and show us what's inside. Very Happy

those batteries dont even look like they were connected to anything. whoever made that video prob just put the batteries in and showed them taking the lable off a new one and then the video jumps over to another battery that has the lavle off already so whos to say that its not a diff battery and they had one apart already and just filled it with AA's. they should have made the video as one video that would make it more believable

It's probable fake. It could be done but it would be made by having a combination of parallel and series cells but unlikely.
Though some 9v alkaline batteries have 6 cells that are almost the size of a AAAs and in some rechargeable battery pack for toys cars etc. there are AA cells and in packs for cordless drills there are cells almost big enough to pass a C cell Very Happy

Ya, most of the hacks like this are false, INTERNET LIES! Just like the glow in the dark mountain dew. Just a waste of dew.

Believable video though at first, it would be cool if it was true but obviously its not.

That's too bad. It would have made for neat special effects at Halloween.

If I had a video camera, I would make a clip showing 'proof' of something absolutely absurd in a 6 voly battery.

I dunno, I think I may still try the 6 volt thing, just for fun...I like taking things apart. Of course I will do it with a dead one, don't want to waste a perfectly good battery
