I saw a program on how guns are handled on movie and tv sets. Even though they are never loaded with live ammo, all guns are treated as though they are real and loaded. They are kept in the custody of one person hands them to the actors as needed and takes them back as soon as the actors are finished with them. This even applies to brightly painted blocks of wood that the actors hold in place of guns when they are rehearsing a scene. The whole point is that if you always handle every gun as if it is loaded, when you do hold a loaded one (and one loaded with blanks can be dangerous, too), you will handle it safely.

If you hunt and have kids that even show an interest in hunting, I highly suggest putting them through a gun safety course... I went through the DNR's one at my middle school, which was a great opportunity for me. You wouldn't think that they'd present any program promoting guns in a school, but hey, second highest percentage of gun owners in the US only after Alaska

Brandon Lee (The Crow) probably being the most infamous, being Bruce Lee's son and how they both died very young... One of my favorite movies by the way...
