here is my fire piston i made today i got the info on how to make it from this site http://www.wildwoodsurvival.com/survival/fire/firepiston/index.html but i have to make another plunger cuz im still not all that happy with it.

Thats cool Northern. Good to see your into making your own gear.
That to me is way more fun, than just buying it. But you cant always make something so, buying is the only way.
Looks good. I must try this later, i can spend Hours ! in the garage on rainy days. Cheers Northern.

ya i love making my own gear. when you make it you also learn how something works to so you know how to fix it if it breaks Smile i try and make as much stuff as i can just for fun

Thats pretty interesting, let us know how it works. Something like a fire piston is hard to make because the dimentions have to be perfect (since it's all about pressure and whatnott)

ya it works but it doesnt work very well that why i have to make a new plunger cuz the knotch where the O-ring is i think is a little to deep and im not happy with the way the plunger looks either so im just going to redo it.
