The Story.
I went out this morning hunting. Ive never been to this spot before and im only up in the treestand for a hour before i see a 2 four point bucks coming from the right of me. I wait till they get in shotgun range and i shoot the second one. It dropped on impact, I thought good. Clean kill. I waved my uncle to come over, he was only about 70 yards away from me in another tree. We walk over to it and it turns out i shot it in its spine and it was still alive. I put another round through vitals. It was still alive! My uncle went to go get his muzzleloader, and shot him AGAIN for a 3rd time. Then we went back to the car to get the knife and i filled out my tag. We went back in the woods to where it was and it was still their. I get about 5 feet from it and it jumps up and runs across the cornfield. I pulled up my shotgun to shoot again and my uncle says no, wait for it to drop. As soon as it got in the middle of the cornfield 3 other hunters unloaded onto it and tried to claim it as their own. I said forget about it.......Bad day of hunting. :-/

a bad day's hunting is a good days hiking with guns.... try not to worry about it and give it another shot, pun intended, next season.

That's a pain in the bum!
Once my dad shot a deer 4 times at point-blank range before it died.
Spining a deer is unfortunate.

You got that right.
Beats being in the best jail cell or hospital bed, too.

that sucks man but after having been shot that many times you prob wouldnt have got much for good meat out of it anyway.
i shot a doe this year and i ended up getting her high up on the back to,but instead of putting another bullet in her heart lungs (vitals) ect.. i just put another round just behind her ears its quick and you dont waste any meat. also what you can do or what i do just to make sure they are dead is when you get to your deer even if its not moving you cut the throat and then they will bleed out really fast.
oh also its a good idea after you shoot them to leave them be for 15-20 min cuz they can run and run and run until they bleed out if you keep going after them. so if you leave them be they will lay down and after a few min they wont be able to get back up.
