I thought that they are very useful to have on any snowboarding/skiing trip and they should be carried on the mountain as often as you carry a compass in the bush.

These beacons are useful anywhere in the bush as far as im concerned.
If you like getting Waaaaaaaaay out there in the forest, having this on you is a nice piece of mind Cool
There not cheap though. But hey, whats your life worth.
