|
i just got back from hunting and earlier today i shot a deer that was a little weird. i saw 2 does together and shot the bigger one and when i got to her i saw antlers coming from her head one was about 5" and the other was maybe 2" i was like wtf he must of had her ears covering the antlers i was like what ever my tag is good for buck or doe and when i got closer i saw that the spikes still had valvet on them and that is not normal for this time of year and when i fliped him over to start gutting i saw that he was really a she with antlers lol has anyone else ever got a deer like that?

Yeah that is actually not all that uncommon. There were a few shot last here in Az that had nice racks, but no junk down there. Some kind of chemical imbalence going on.

That's wacked out, NH.
Makes for a good story, though.

In Kentucky, if you buy a deer tag you will notice that one tag says "antlered" deer, not "buck" due to the fact that you may occasionally find a doe with antlers. It is unusual, but it happens sometimes, usuallly due to hormonal imbalances. A hermaphroditic deer is less common.

I have seen that before, but I never thought about it.
