yeah, its actually just the blinds open a bit, letting the blue sky in, and the reflections rippleing off the scales on the sak.

Great stuff.

To anything, 10,15 degrees. Was it too obtuse, or did you find it worked ok?

Not saying it looked bad, just wondering if it cuts well, I hear many complain about it being to obtuse.

Mine is razor sharp, and I haven't used it too much. It would probably stay sharper for on your trips and such just like it is. Very Happy

Any suggestions on brands for a good reliable fixed blade? What's the Leatherman of fixed blades?

I would highly recommend Leatherman Fixed Blades, although I only have 1 folding knife(E304x). Very Happy

I trust Leatherman. Smile

though those are nice knives,

For other good quailty fixedblades, Look at the RAT series from ontario, fallkniven, Barkriver, Sog's out door knives (NW ranger, Revolver, Field pup) Becker series if you can find any, Grohmann and even coldsteels srk, master hunter in carbon V or aus-8 will make good knives.

"All right, boys, move aside! There's a new sheriff in town!" Holly hitches up her camo shorts and strides in, her new knife strapped to her side.

Stats: It's a Kershaw Outcast "mini machete". Ken Onion designed it. It's my understanding that he is one of the premier knife designers in the world.

The blade is Teflon coated and is 10 inches long, made of D2 tool steel. D2 tool steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium cold work tool steel used in the steel industry for "high efficiency" cutting tools. It can withstand a lot of wear and tear and can take higher temps without softening. (My husband works for Worthington Steel and I hear all this at dinner parties!)

It fits my hand really well, it's perfectly balanced for chopping with the major weight over the last 1/3 of the blade.

Oh, and my neighbors are hiding in their homes today while I'm running around my backyard chopping stuff down!
