Season 2 Episode 2 Amazon Jungle Talk *SPOILERS!!!!* |
|
Just wanted to say this episode was great. Les toughed it out with the foot fungus, but that jaguar was looking for dinner and I am glad he left.

I put it on this on the other thread.
The Best Survivorman EVER!!!!! Wow! That's all I have to say. The last five minutes made the show.

Ya it was really something I thought he had it pretty good when he found the fruit. But that Jaguar scene at the end was fantastic You could hear the cat growling low in the background noise. He came pretty close to being cat kibble

I thought it was dumb how he only came up with boiling water in the pop can halfway through the show. When he said he had a pop can, a can to boil water in was the first thing I thought of!!

True. But he did have a hip injury, a foot injury (somewhat), faulty cameras, and those ants.

I couldn't believe he was drinking straight river water! What a nut. Maybe he had a brain fart about the can.
Loved the song about the foot fungus blues.

i thought the same thing TommasisX! he had the soda can from the start too, so he should of known that once he had fire he could of boiled the water early on, instead of on day 4 [or 5?] lol.
also the added sound effect of the growling jaguar at the end was lame!! there was no way the little mic on his one cam he had left could of picked up a 'low growl' from outside of the camp!!

I doubt Les would have added sound effects especially after this stuff with Bear (Man vs Wild). I bet those growls were a lot louder to Les.
I've got to see this episode again and soon

I noticed there was added sound effects with the howling wind in the jeep on the Kalahari episode as well.

Les didn't add the sound, it was from a jaguar circling the camp pissed because it missed out on dinner (les)

i guess its to be expected - in season one in the arctic episode he clearly added wind/noise effects a couple times, it just sounded too much like a movie.
i think its ok for some to believe its ALL real though.

I like that new feature of the "Hyundai Survival Stats". It's a pretty cool addition to what he's been going through.

I think the Jaguar sounds were real, it had to have been VERY quiet in the camp, who wants to make a ruckus or make a lot of noise when theres a jaguar outside? I DEFINITELY heard it walking around, and I heard a little bit of growling - I DIDNT hear it when he said something about the low growl but I did hear a little snorting/growling for just a split second just before he said anything about the growls, but after he said "We can hear low growls. Shhh, Listen.", I didnt hear anything that I thought was a growl. .

Those were so freaking real!!! Les has a way better integrity than Bear so there's no way he added those. Besides the fact that those cameras can pick up snorts and rumbles and I'm pretty sure that the noise is louder than you think. I'm also with hellsflame that the camp was pretty quite. And my last defense is that the walls were made of grass and sticks so its not like they were soundproof!
